Commissioner Dr. Anthony Viegbesie Appointed to FAC Finance, Tax and Administration Committee

The Florida Association of Counties (FAC) appointed Commissioner Dr. Anthony O. Viegbesie to its Finance, Tax and Administration Policy Committee, which aids counties in capitalizing on financial resources and practicing fiscal management, home rule, county structure and management, economic development, and appropriations.

Standing committees are tasked to develop and recommend an annual statewide legislative platform for counties based on each of the issue areas under their jurisdiction.

"I am grateful and delighted to know that the President of the Florida Association of Counties, Karson Turner, considers me as having the skills necessary to be appointed to a part of the committed leadership team for FAC that will drive the development process of its policies which will guide the Fiscal Legislative agenda for the 2019 Legislative Session,” said Gadsden County Commissioner Dr. Anthony Viegbesie. “It is with humility that I proudly accept this opportunity to serve the Florida Association of Counties."

The Florida Association of Counties Finance, Tax and Administration Policy Committee oversees the policy development process to address legislation in the areas of finance, tax and administration that will impact Florida’s counties. This committee has developed policies regarding legislation that has arisen in the past such as communications services tax, local business taxes, beach re-nourishment, tourist development tax and a host of other issues.

Dozens of commissioners from across the state will assist the Association in leading the development process of policies that will guide the formation of the Florida Association of Counties’ agenda for the 2019 legislative session.
