Effective October 1, 2011, the Gadsden County Solid Waste Division was consolidated into the Division of Neighborhood Services along with Parks & Recreation, Hazardous Waste and Animal Control. Solid Waste Permits are no longer issued by the County for the disposable of household garbage. Instead, residents in the outlying areas of the County may subscribe to curbside garbage pickup service with Waste Pro USA by calling 850-561-0800 or residents may utilize the City of Quincy Byrd Landfill on Selman Road (850-875-8390) to personally discard their household garbage.
Household Hazardous Waste is accepted on Thursdays 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Public Works Department located at 1284 High Bridge Road in Quincy. Accepted items include used oil & antifreeze, rechargeable batteries, electronics (household & office), used tires, flammable gas, fluorescent lamps, mercury devices, flammable propane, solids & oxygen tanks, paint, lead and pesticides.
